Big Bear Lake is a four-season resort community located at 6,750 feet elevation in the beautiful San Bernardino Mountains in Southern California.
The centerpiece of the Big Bear Valley is an alpine lake seven miles long, offering not only beautiful scenery and views for the surrounding communities, but a variety of recreational activities for residents and visitors alike.
Fishing, water-skiing, personal watercraft use, sailing and para-sailing are enjoyed during the spring, summer and fall, as well as relaxing lake tours on a paddle-boat replica, and even a pirate ship!

Big Bear Lake is home to two world-class ski resorts, Snow Summit and Big Bear Mtn. Operating under the Big Bear Mountain Resorts banner, the areas attract visitors from all over the West in the winter months. With state-of-the-art snowmaking systems, both resorts offer miles of skiing and riding terrain with or without the cooperation of natural snowfall from Mother Nature.
Surrounded on all sides by the San Bernardino National Forest, the Big Bear Valley also offers miles of hiking and mountain biking trails and an assortment of camping venues.

In addition, Big Bear boasts one of the few alpine golf courses in the state – the Bear Mountain Golf Course. The 9-hole, par 36 course is located at the base of the ski area and is open May through October. The Big Bear Discovery Center, Moonridge Zoo, Big Bear Solar Observatory and Big Bear Historical Museum are also conveniently located for an afternoon’s enjoyment.

There is no shortage of events in the Big Bear Valley, no matter the season. After the snow flies, national-level ski and snowboard competitions abound at Big Bear Mountain Resorts, including USASA sanctioned events. In the summer, NORBA sanctioned mountain biking events head for the hills. The two week long ‘Old Miners Days’ celebration in July and August celebrates the Valley’s gold-mining heritage, with events from a Logger’s Jubilee to chili cook-off culminating with a parade down the main streets. The open-air Art On The Lake art show, Big Bear International Film Festival, Antique Wooden Boat Show, Big Bear’s own Renaissance Faire, Mountain Man Encampments and the annual Rotary Firework’s Show are just a few of the offerings in the summer.

For the car and motorcycle buffs, Big Bear Chopper’s holds their annual “Ride The Mountain” event in June with thousands of custom motorcycles from all over the country attending; the Big Bear Antique Car Club’s “Fun Run” brings hundreds of custom hot rods to The Village in one of the largest shows of its kind in California, and Corvette’s take to the highways when Hot Vegas ‘Vettes and Corvette’s West bring their annual runs to town.
Fall is highlighted by Big Bear’s nationally known Oktoberfest celebration at the Big Bear Lake Convention Center.
Throughout the year, the Community Arts Theatre Society (CATS) presents outstanding local productions at the Performing Arts Center, and the venue also hosts comedy, drama and musical productions by national touring companies.
With amazing scenery and variety of recreational and entertainment opportunities, it is no wonder Big Bear Lake attracts hundreds of thousands of visitors a year to its campgrounds, lodges and hotels, and private home rentals. The Valley is also the premiere second-home location for Southern California, with the choice in properties ranging from Cabins to Castles.

Whether your taste runs to a slope-side condo, or a magnificent log home, there is something for everyone.
Big Bear’s ‘small town’ atmosphere and friendly folks are a big part of its appeal, but there is no shortage of the necessities and conveniences. Shopping of all types is available just minutes from anywhere in the Valley, from major supermarkets and discount stores, to the unique shops in The Village.
Big Bear Lake and the surrounding communities are easily accessible year-round by three major state highways, as well as by private aircraft. The Big Bear City airport is just minutes from the lake, Village and shopping venues, and accommodates single-engine to corporate jet aircraft.
Big Bear Lake offers a lifestyle unlike any other in Southern California. Interiors understands that unique lifestyle and has been proudly serving the Big Bear Valley’s home furnishing needs for over 25 years.
